St. Louis was recently graced with the presence of emerging designer Jennifer Chun. I was lucky enough to work on her show (STLFW's Industry Night) after a savvy Refinery 29 editor suggested Jennifer as a qualified designer for last season's local lineup. Ever since receiving that email I've heard nothing but wonderful things about Jennifer, including words of praise from Emma of Tres Awesome and Haya of Good Good Gorgeous.
Before Jennifer and her assisted landed in St. Louis, I was lucky to attend her SS14 presentation hosted by none other than Cosmopolitan Magazine. The event took place at The Glass Houses Penthouse which overlooked the city and culminated in an incredible view of New York. I attended with Holly of Mint Julep 87 and we admittedly took advantage of the view.
Holly and I enjoyed a glass of champagne while taking in the scenery and waiting for the presentation to begin. And in case you were wondering, it was the best bubbly of fashion week. (Holly has the last word on this, and she agrees.)
Jennifer Chun's SS14 Collection presented an array of interesting silhouettes, some derived from the athletic world while others implied an opposite origin. The combination of cut and texture brought the overall vibe to life in a smart ready-to-wear wardrobe.
