Plans had been made to visit Pastaria in Clayton for a second time before it'd been a full week since we'd eaten there last. After a five star first visit to the family friendly restaurant, we were craving more Italian. The joint's fresh ambiance and down to earth vibe provides a refreshing twist on artisanal dining in St. Louis. Its wide open spaces and carefully tailored Italian offerings are complemented by a pleasant staff with refreshingly adequate social skills (a few local establishments should take note).
Because I simply cannot order just one item, we decided to try the Risotto Balls, Angel Hair (sub Chitarra) in a crushed red pepper, garlic, olive oil mix, Brussels Sprouts and a Braised Beef dish with carrot. Pastaria delivered.
Needless to say, we'll be back to Pastaria in Clayton (In fact, we already have. Check my Instagram feed for photos from our last visit).
Thanks Gerard Craft, for mixing it up, keeping it simple and staffing a crew of knowledgeable folks who know how to smile.
