STL Fashion: Advanced Style Post-Dispatch Edition

Soooo.... recently I guest-styled an Advanced Style inspired shoot for the St. Louis Post Dispatch. It was fun! Gloria, my client, was a total doll. She was 88 and more active than I am. I dressed her in a menswear inspired ensemble with just the right amount of glitz - it fit her personality amazingly.

It was fun in and of itself, and I wouldn't have asked for anything in return. Just getting to meet Gloria and help her pursue her interests in glamming up her wardrobe a bit was rewarding enough. She even wrote a little narrative about her experience - stating that she had once tried to model as a young woman in Europe and had been rejected. She blamed her lack-of-interest in fashion on the experience, proclaiming that by making her modeling dreams come true in a way, we gave new life to her personal style. You can see the photos here!

Me & Gloria being awesome.

After it was all said and done, Debra Bass (Fashion Editor for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch) sent me an amazing box of makeup goodies! I came home to a package and pretty much squealed like a little girl on Christmas morning upon opening. I had been in dire need of a high-quality red lip, and foundation primer - neither of which I ever deem necessary enough to actually purchase. Of course, Debra sent me both of those things without evening knowing. I am the happiest girl ever!

Too bad I can't paint my nails with this.

This Body Shop body butter is amazzzzzing. I smell like a cookie. I'm not big on dessert smells in beauty products, so normally I wouldn't think of that as a good thing, but let me tell you - it is awesome.

Oh and can I just say... Lauren Mercier's foundation primer keeps my makeup on ALL day when it used to fade and blend and separate within just a couple of hours. Amazing! I strongly suggest you try it.
